lyrics
GHOST KING
oh serene highness
something whispered to his ear
you sent us out for bloodshed
and left us on the ground
we - the disciples of war
companions in fate
reborn from misery and pain
revived from the battlefield
listen what we got to say
to whom that has yet missed
taking it's rightful place
once honorable
let us suck the shame
running from the wounds
we endow you
oh forlorn
abandon yourself to the flames of guilt
mauled by burning vengeance
take this crown of fire
and be the last to fall
the king is dead
long live the ghost king

I dig this album so much, definitely a keeper. Subtly and masterfully mixing death metal subgenres, backed with an over the top production. They're true professionals. Can't wait for their next release! doive
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
The Indonesian act Kekal leaves no genre unturned, colliding black metal with industrial music with melodic post-rock on this stunning LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 25, 2023
PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it.
That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten
